ISO 9001 · Quality Management
ISO 9001 quality management, documented in weeks.
Ashdown Safety builds tender-ready ISO 9001 documentation for UK businesses that need quality accreditation to win their next contract. Built by a qualified quality-management internal auditor, fixed-price from £6,000, and delivered in weeks — ready for your certification audit.
Why ISO 9001
For most firms, ISO 9001 is the first accreditation a big customer asks for.
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems and the most widely held ISO certification in the world. It is often the first one a growing business is asked to hold — usually the moment it goes after a larger contract.
01 · The trigger
The contract needs it
A new customer, a bigger framework or a supply-chain audit asks for ISO 9001. Without it your quote doesn't qualify, however good your product or service is.
02 · The gap
Processes in people's heads
You deliver consistently because your team knows what they're doing. ISO 9001 wants that turned into documented processes, controls and records — so quality doesn't walk out the door when someone does.
03 · The trap
Templates create busywork
A downloaded quality manual bolts bureaucracy onto your business instead of reflecting it. A UKAS-accredited assessor wants a system that matches how you actually operate — and that your staff will actually use.

Common questions
ISO 9001, answered straight.
What is ISO 9001?
ISO 9001 is the international standard for quality management systems and the most widely used ISO standard in the world. It gives organisations a framework for consistent quality: understanding customer requirements, controlling processes, managing records and continually improving. Certification is awarded by an independent certification body and is frequently required to win contracts.
How much does ISO 9001 cost in the UK?
Ashdown Safety documents an ISO 9001 management system for a fixed £6,000, covering the full documentation set ready for your certification audit. The separate certification-body assessment fee is paid to the certification body and depends on your size.
How long does ISO 9001 take?
We deliver the documentation in weeks rather than the several months typically quoted by larger consultancies. The exact timescale depends on the size of your business and your starting position, and is confirmed at the kick-off call.
Is ISO 9001 worth it for a small business?
Often yes — particularly when a customer or tender requires it, or when you're growing and need consistent processes that don't depend on one or two people. A well-built system should make the business run more smoothly, not add red tape. If it's only ever a tender box-tick, we'll tell you that too.
Do we need to be a manufacturer to get ISO 9001?
No. ISO 9001 applies to organisations of any size in any sector — services, construction, distribution, manufacturing. The system is scoped to your activities, whatever they are.
Do you help with the certification audit?
Yes. Every package is prepared so a UKAS-accredited assessor sees the documentation the way they expect. On-site attendance at the certification audit and post-audit corrective-action support are available as part of our Enterprise option.
Can I combine ISO 9001 with 45001 and 14001?
Yes. If you need health & safety (45001) and environmental (14001) as well, an integrated management system is more efficient and cheaper than three separate ones — from £9,500 combined. See our integrated management systems page.
